Brook, a Denver socialite, seems to have a good life until she becomes the victim of a botched carjacking. In a matter of minutes, her life is forever altered. She is abducted, transported, and held for days by three brutal men in a remote mountain location. She escapes only to end up barefoot, nearly naked, and hopelessly lost in the Colorado wilderness at the beginning of a harsh winter. Lance, a man who has shunned society, lives like a recluse in a rustic cabin far removed from the modern world. He likes his solitary life. But his world is about to be turned upside down.

Dear Readers,

The story caught my eye and kept it, In this tale of healing Brooke finds herself the victim of a half-done car jacking. The criminals, who decide to simply take her- put her through numerous counts of rape and abuse. And even when I came to the parts of abuse it was rather hard to skip and or look away- which might I tell you- resembled as much of a train wreck.- despite the desire to look away, one finds themselves trapped to go through each and every horrible act poor Brooke goes through and it is not for the faint of heart

Now, before you go all "Amelia I cannot possibly deal with such a thing!" calm your frazzled nerves and cases of the vapors, and hear me when I say you are rewarded when Brook- tired, helpless and in the midsts of a snow storm- meets Lance- ahem, let me swoon for a moment- screaming in the mountains and appearing to be a veritable mad man!

At that point in the adventure I thought to myself "Good heavens, one might succumb to a feminine burst of denial, madness, and or faint if I were in her situation." Brooke poor dear, having gone through hell and back, succumbs. Lance is quite wild looking, and confued- and helps heal her.

During their time together Brooke learns to slowly trust again. There were moments dear reader where my heart felt so much for this character, and I wanted to leap into the book and baby and coddle her poor fractured heart. Lance, is quite the hero- and I shant spoil the ending, and or the alternative ending.

Let me tell you, both are wonderful, but the alternate is not for those prone to swooning. The links below shall direct you to this delightful, heart wrenching, and loveable read. Wodke has outdone himself!

I am proud to do this review and give it the Amelia Stamp Of Approval of Five Stars!
